Mimi’s Cafe in Ocala… Much More Than Omelets!

Breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe off of 200 in Ocala is a great way to start your day!

My choice of the Monterey Omelet (Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and avocado) came with home fried potatoes, fresh grapefruit  juice and a muffin.

Mimi’s Cafe has breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and also (clink) serves liquor. I didn’t have any liquor with my breakfast.

Mimi’s also has great ‘to-go‘ options!

Can There Ever Be Enough Horse Farms in Ocala?

HorsesCan there ever be enough horse farms in Ocala? No … in my humble opinion.

The horses and elegant Ocala horse farms off of 200 (in this short video) are just a short drive from I-75, amidst shopping malls, strip malls, and ‘big box’ stores …. but you would never know it.

Some of the stores located along Highway 200 in Ocala include Sam’s Club, Dillards, Barnes & Noble.  The Paddock Mall is located on 200. And then, there are the restaurants!

No Signs of Tropical Disturbances on These Ocala Horse Farms Today.

No signs of tropical disturbances on these Ocala horse farms early today when I was taking photos. Cloudy at times; sunny on occasion.

Beautiful horses, spectacular horse farms, green grass and rolling hills… that’s Ocala!

Elegant Horse Statue at Market Street at Heathbrook Shopping Center in Ocala.

This elegant horse statue at Market Street at Heathbrook Shopping Center in Ocala was beautiful and wet yesterday… it was raining when I traveled to Market Street to visit Barnes & Noble.

Party Shop at Market StreetMarket Street is home to Barnes & Noble, Dillards, Panera Bread, Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Party Shop, to name a few. The shopping center is very conveniently located off of I-75 on 200. Unfortunately it appears the economy has affected tenancy, but there are some great businesses out there that are surviving and thriving, thanks to those who Buy Local.

Halloween is around the corner…. the Party Shop at Market Street is ready!

Original posted on Horsealicious.

Fall in Ocala … horse farms with round bales of freshly-cut hay and heavier broodmares are the only signs of Fall I’ve noticed so far in Ocala.

The video below was made on my way to Horse & Hounds Restaurant (off of Hwy 27) for lunch the other day. Warning: you could get hungry watching the video.

If you enjoy videos of farms and businesses in Ocala, please visit my video page.

P.S. There is a Horse Festival here in Ocala next weekend (October 2 and 3) at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion.

The Saddle Rack Cafe in Anthony… Minutes from Ocala.

The Saddle Rack Cafe in Ocala is out in the Anthony area, and is always busy when I go by early in the morning. It appears to be a popular local restaurant, based on the number of trucks in the parking lot every time I drive by! I don’t think it has internet yet.

Not sure what happens on Friday night, but I’ll have to check on that when I get there for breakfast one morning soon.
