Big Rascal Pit BBQ and Grille in Ocala (352-732-0344) is located right off Interstate I-75 at the Highway 27 exit, on the East side. My favorite meals there (so far) are the ribs and the pulled pork… so good they make you want to slap your Mama!

Friday night (12/16/11) at Silver Springs’ Festival of Lights - – the weather was perfect, the lights were sparkling and bright, the carousel was busy, the tour boats were all decked out in twinkling lights, and SANTA arrived! It was a great Friday evening at Silver Springs.

Gator Joe’s on Lake Weir in Ocklawaha (South Ocala) does a great job with the kind of food you want to eat when you are on the water. Fried fish; fried gator, gator chili; gator chili cheese fries; etc. Dinner there a couple of nights ago was perfect… the weather outside on the deck was cool, there was a breeze in the air, and the food and service were great.
Ocala’s Olive Garden Restaurant with a side of Garlic Bread Sticks… you can’t go wrong heading for an Olive Garden when the ‘Italian food’ craving hits. Ocala’s Olive Garden is like most Olive Gardens … busy, predictable and delicious… a carboholic’s dream.
